Our Story
Simply MADRAS was born out of a deep love for South Indian cuisine and a desire to share its unique flavors with the world. We opened our first restaurant in Surat, Gujarat, in January 2017, and since then, we’ve been committed to delivering the finest South Indian dishes to our guests. Our success in Surat has fueled our passion for expansion, and we are excited to bring Simply MADRAS to more cities in the near future.

The Visionaries Behind Simply MADRAS
Sanjay Gupta
A business leader and management professional with over 28 years of industry experience, Sanjay has worked with some of the finest multinational and home-grown companies (ITC, RP-SG, CavinKare). His understanding of consumer insights is multi-faceted across industries such as consumer goods, retail, food & beverage services, health & beauty, and entertainment. Sanjay has hands-on experience in nurturing start-up businesses from inception to fruition, bringing invaluable expertise to Simply MADRAS.
Late B Kumarkrishnan
A management professional with over 28 years of corporate experience, Kumarkrishnan has worked with legendary multinational and home-grown music companies (BMG-Crescendo, HMV, Saregama, Music World). His stint as head of merchandising and operations at Music World, India’s premier music and home video retail chain, showcased his strong procurement and commercial skills. Kumarkrishnan's expertise in buying, negotiation, and operations brings a strong commercial acumen to Bean Shark Retail LLP.
